About M.A.N.

M.A.N's Mission Statement:

To serve as community and business leaders promoting the message that domestic violence is unacceptable in our community. M.A.N.'s focus is on prevention and accountability for the abusers. The group will:

  • Support prevention & abuser programs.
  • Facilitate the creation of public awareness & children's education programs that focus on prevention and target the abuser.
  • Assist in building a coalition of leaders in various sectors of the community to address prevention and abuser issues.

M.A.N. committees:

  • Public Awareness
    This committee works with Cramer-Krasselt on the media campaign for 2002 as well as gives input on public awareness collateral materials for corporations (posters, statement stuffers etc.) It is also responsible for putting on the general manager/publisher breakfast in the fall to launch the campaign. There are fewer than six meetings a year.
  • Legislation
    This committee reviews legislation related to MAN's mission, determines what we will support, and makes lobbying visits. There are fewer than three meetings a year. Number of lobbying visits according to member schedules.
  • Outreach
    This group is responsible for the speaking engagements. Members agree to be MAN speakers as well as give input for venues and message. There are fewer than three meetings a year. Number of speaking engagements according to member schedules.
  • Policy
    In 2002 the policy committee works with the Superintendent of Public Instruction to create program related to educating our children in the schools. It will give policy direction and work with community partners to implement the initiative.
  • Recruitment
    This is not a standing committee and there are no meetings. Individuals agree to approach specific community leaders to recruit as MAN members.
